In June 2025, Nikos Tile Service ranked in the top three across almost the entire Eastside for every tile search that matters. Eight months later, in February 2026, the same map had gone red. This is the record — every scan below is a real, shareable heat map, not a slide.
Each pair is one keyword. Left is your June 2025 scan — green means you ranked 1–3 at that point on the map. Right is February 2026: red is rank 11+, and the gray “20+” pins are searches where you no longer appear at all. Every scan opens live.

Here is the uncomfortable part: none of this was caused by your reviews, your work, or your reputation — those held. It was caused by the things underneath the site that were never maintained, and by Google’s content updates catching up to a site built on shortcuts.
The site runs on 84 near-identical “city × service” template pages — the same copy with the town name swapped. Our crawl found 42 pages that are ≥60% duplicates of each other, and Google has already collapsed 42 of them (canonicalized away). This is exactly the pattern Google’s 2024–2025 Helpful Content / core updates were built to demote — and the timing of the fall lines up with them.
The site has no dated or updated content anywhere — no blog, no fresh pages, nothing published since launch. Google rewards sites that stay current; a site frozen in place sends the opposite signal, and slowly gives ground to competitors who keep moving.
Most tile searches happen on a phone. The site scores 41 / 100 on mobile performance (desktop is a healthy 95). Slow mobile pages hurt both rankings and the customers who do find you.
This is the proof it’s the site, not the business. Through the entire ranking collapse, the Google profile stayed strong — 5.0 stars, 32 reviews, 133 photos, a correctly categorized “Tile contractor,” and owner replies on 72% of reviews. Reviews even kept arriving. The demand and the trust are intact; the site just stopped delivering them.
If reviews had dried up or the profile had gone stale, you could blame the market. They didn’t. A steady 5.0 across 32 reviews, owner responses on nearly three quarters of them, and new reviews landing this summer — all while the map went from green to red. Nothing about the business explains the fall. Everything about the website does.
We ran our own independent grid scan of the full Puget Sound / Eastside map in July 2026 — 1,544 points across ten tile keywords — to confirm this is current, not a bad week in February. It is. Across the entire grid, Nikos Tile now holds just 7 top-3 positions, and never ranks better than #3 anywhere.
Zero appearances anywhere for bathroom remodeling, kitchen remodeling, shower remodel and walk-in tub installation. The pack for those is owned by general remodelers.
On backsplash, shower tile, tile contractor and fireplace tile, you still appear across much of the map — just at rank 4–20 instead of 1–3. That gap is recoverable; the June 2025 map proves you’ve held those positions before.
This is our independent scan of the full Puget Sound map — 1,544 search points per keyword, run July 2026. Each map below is one search. Green pins are where Nikos Tile ranks in the top 3; orange is 4–10, red is 11+, and the faint gray points are searches where you don't appear at all.
